The Amber 

This layer produces about 300 brown shelled eggs and is suitable for small scale and free range egg production. The Amber is a result of crossing Rhode Island White paternal stock with Rhode Island Red maternal stock.

 

The Buff Barred 

The Buff Barred is a very popular, attractively coloured layer for small scale and free range production conditions. It is similar to the old native breed Barred Rhode Islander. This layer has high egg productivity producing brown shell eggs. 310 eggs at 74 weeks.

 

The Copper Black - 

The Copper Black is the result of crossing Rhode Island Red paternal stock with Barred Plymouth Rock maternal stock. A most popular layer, black feathered with a touch of brown. Highly adaptable to all situations. The advantage of these layers is quality brown eggs and high egg productivity (> 310 eggs at 74 weeks age).

 

The Silver & Black

An attractive black feathered, with a touch of silver, layer producing about 300 brown shell eggs. It is suitable for free range and small scale production.
It is the result of crossing Sussex paternal stock with Barred Plymouth Rock maternal stock. 

 

The Blue - Out of Stock

The Blue is result of crossing original paternal stock Blue Plymouth Rock with Barred Plymouth Rockmaternal stock. An attractive blue/grey coloured layer suitable for garden or free range production. They have high egg productivity (>310 dark brown shell eggs at 74 weeks age).

 

The Partridge 

The partridge is an attractive coloured layer suitable for free range and small scale egg production. It is bred using Brown Leghorn - Partridge paternal stock and Brown Leghorn Partridge maternal stock. It has good egg production, producing white and creamy shell eggs. 260 eggs at 78 weeks.

Speckledy - Out of Stock

The Barred is the result of crossing paternal fast feathering Barred Plymouth Rock stock with maternal slow feathering Rhode Island Red stock. Very popular, attractively coloured black/white layer similar in appearance to 'Coucou Maran'. These layers have high egg productivity (>310 brown shell eggs at 74 weeks age).

The Sussex (Hybrid)

The Sussex is result of crossing paternal Sussex stock with slow feathering maternal stock. A hybrid very similar to the old native Light Sussex, suited to free range and garden situations. They have high egg productivity (>300 brown shell eggs at 74 weeks of age).

 

The Blacktail  

This is a very popular, strong and attractively coloured blacktailed layer suitable for free range and small scale production. It has high egg productivity of about 300 brown shell eggs. It is bred by crossing Rhode Island Red paternal stock with Sussex maternal stock. These layers have high egg productivity (>310 brown shell eggs at 74 weeks age).

The White

The White is produced from 4 lines of White Leghorn. It is totally white feathered and produces white eggs - 310 at 78 weeks.

All our chicks (Chickens, Ducks & Guinea Fowl) are reared outdoors (when old enough to go outside) on a high quality diet and this is reflected in the price, we could rear them more intensively to save costs however we believe that their welfare must come first, for this we offer no apology.

Birds between 6 and 16 weeks old are priced on an incremental basis depending on their age.

 

The age at which chicks can be sexed varies according to breed, most breeds we keep we can tell by 6 weeks - other breeds can keep us guessing a bit longer - we will be happy to advise on the earliest that we are able to offer a guarantee as to sex by breed.
